Clif Bar Cold Shot Challenge 3.0: March Recap

As the phrase goes, In like a lion, out like a lamb, March has lived up to its reputation.  Cold and bitter to start off the month with mild and more welcoming temps as we head into April.  Hard to believe the winter is over.  It is bittersweet to see her go.

The month started off with Winter Storm Scott which delivered a bit of snow and plenty of fun rippable surf to the eastern seaboard.  An abundant of really awesome submissions were received from all regions, but it looks like New Jersey and New England reaped the best of this storm.

Although WS Scott was the only named surf bearing storm, there were a few low-pressure systems that provided a few days of relief East Coast surfers.  The middle and end of March greeted the Right Coast with clean cold barrels, with a few shots from New England that will make you want to pack the car and head north.

The waiting period for the Clifbar Cold Shot Challenge is running until April 15th in hopes of capitalizing on some late season juice!  Head over to NySea.com to submit your photos and vote for your favorites. The 2 highest voted will be sent straight into the professional judging round.  As always, stay warm, stay safe, and pray for surf.
