With 326 entries from over 100 different people, we collectively decided on 2 well deserved winners.

Our iPhone camera winner was @sgrella | Shannon Grella from Rockaway Beach, NY. From what we gathered it was not luck, it was a well planned and executed cellphone photo shoot. In Shannon’s last Instagram post he thanked his friend @thefatiris for the art direction, proving that there is more success in team work.

After a heavy discussion at the NYSEA headquarters we were stoked to announce @parascandola_james as the overall winner. The runner up was of an epic Rockaway right shot by @jwdproductions (Joey Dwyer). It came down to those two, but ultimately we chose James for the winning shot for a couple reasons. It was taken during the blizzard sky and really pulls out the emotion of the day. It also is a unique shot of a big perfect A-frame about to break. The photo gives off a strong feeling of anticipation, that sparks your imagination and straight up gives you goosebumps.
